For a slim stomach and a new attitude to life
Even people of normal weight can develop a belly that is protruding or flabby. A belly with overhanging skin in the lower abdomen (fat apron) may also develop. Sagging of the abdominal wall can also be a sign of ageing, after pregnancy, trauma, surgery and significant fluctuations in body weight.
An abdominoplasty can remove excess fat and skin and tighten a weakened muscle in the abdominal wall area (rectus diastasis, gathering rectus fascia = rectus plication). The aim is to restore a harmonious, smoother and firmer body profile.
In cases of pronounced excess skin, the flanks and the back are also treated (so-called circular abdominoplasty, buttock lift). The abdomen, the flanks and the lateral thighs, as well as the buttocks are tightened. If the excess skin is not very pronounced, it is possible to reduce the procedure and perform a mini-abdominoplasty or a periumbilical skin tightening without moving the belly button.
